Local and regional boards of education must establish policies by January 1, 2025 for evaluating library materials subject to complaints about removal or restricted access

A library material review committee must be formed including the school principal, director of curriculum, a certified school librarian, the superintendent or designee, and one or more teachers

No library material may be removed or have access restricted until the review committee completes its evaluation and a final decision is made, which must be posted on the board's website

Boards are prohibited from removing or restricting materials based on partisan content, an author's race/nationality/gender identity/sexual orientation/political or religious views, or board members' personal discomfort or beliefs

Materials related to age-appropriate sexual health education covering puberty, sex, and relationships cannot be removed solely because of that content
