Commissioner of Social Services must study the efficiency of the Department of Social Services in making medical assistance eligibility determinations and responding to telephonic requests for information or assistance.

Commissioner shall file a report by October 1, 2024 to the joint standing committee on human services containing the percentage of eligibility determinations made within prescribed time periods, average wait time for telephonic responses, and recommendations for efficiency improvements.

Quarterly reports must be submitted to the Council on Medical Assistance Program Oversight from October 2024 through July 1, 2026 with data on eligibility determination timeliness, telephone response times, and efficiency metrics.
