Prohibits individual and group health insurance policies from requiring enrollees to obtain prior approval from insurers or health care centers before calling 911 during life or limb threatening emergencies, effective January 1, 2025.

Prevents insurers and health care centers from denying payment to ambulance providers responding to 911 calls based on lack of prior authorization from the enrollee.

Applies to individual health insurance policies under Section 38a-498a and group health insurance policies under Section 38a-525a covering specified coverage types.

Defines "life or limb threatening emergency" as any event an enrollee believes threatens their life or limb and requires immediate medical care to prevent death or serious health impairment.

Updates the prior authorization requirement date from October 1, 1996 to January 1, 2025 for both individual and group policies.
