Each Connecticut municipality must register a ".gov" Internet top-level domain with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency by July 1, 2026.

Municipalities must redirect all existing internet web site addresses to the new ".gov" domain or discontinue use of those addresses by July 1, 2026.

On and after July 1, 2026, all municipalities must maintain their internet web sites using a ".gov" top-level domain.

The requirements apply to all municipalities as defined in section 7-479a of the Connecticut general statutes, regardless of municipal charter, special act, or home rule ordinance provisions.
