Department of Transportation is exempted from standard administrative procedures when implementing fare changes for mass transportation by land.

Department must advertise proposed fare changes at least once in newspapers with statewide circulation, specifying the amount and effective date.

Department must hold a public hearing at least 15 days after notice is provided and send notice to transportation and finance committee chairs and ranking members, plus the Connecticut Public Transportation Council.

Public hearing on proposed fare changes must be scheduled at a time and place convenient for public attendance.

Department must provide notice of major commuter rail service changes to the same legislative committees and Council at least 15 days before required Federal Transit Administration public hearings.

Effective date: July 1, 2024.
