Commissioner of Social Services shall study nursing home ownership by private equity companies as reported pursuant to 42 USC 1320a-3(c) and 42 CFR 424.502.

Commissioner must analyze correlation between private equity ownership and negative Medicare ratings for quality of care indicators and consumer complaints.

Commissioner shall file report by December 1, 2024 to joint standing committees on aging, human services, and public health detailing number of nursing homes owned or partially owned by private equity companies.

Report must include number of nursing homes where private equity companies hold 50 percent or greater ownership stake and most recent five-star Medicare ratings for all such homes.

Commissioner shall post prominent link to report on Department of Social Services website.
