Allows any municipality to adopt an ordinance requiring licensure of short-term rental properties and regulating their operation and use, effective October 1, 2024.

Defines "short-term rental properties" as dwelling units or portions thereof that are subject to short-term rental but excludes hotels, bed and breakfast establishments, motels, motor courts, motor inns, and tourist courts.

Permits municipalities to engage one or more consultants to assist in developing short-term rental ordinances.

Requires adoption of any ordinance by vote of the municipality's legislative body.
