Hospitals, nursing homes, behavioral health facilities, and psychiatric residential treatment facilities receiving medical assistance reimbursement must adopt and implement Joint Commission workplace violence prevention standards by October 1, 2024.

Home health care agencies, home health aide agencies, assisted living services agencies, hospice agencies, and residential care facilities receiving medical assistance reimbursement must adopt and implement CDC/NIOSH-endorsed health and safety training curriculum for home care workers by October 1, 2024.

The Commissioner of Social Services may provide rate enhancements to covered institutions and agencies that report workplace violence incidents within seven calendar days to the Department of Social Services and Department of Public Health.

Home health care and home health aide agencies providing staff escorts for safety purposes during home visits are entitled to increased fee reimbursement effective July 1, 2024.
