SB 387 Summary

• Adds new exception to campaign contribution definition for voluntary payments made by contributors to online donation platforms, provided the payment is additional to the contribution and used by the platform for operations.

• Adds corresponding new exception to campaign expenditure definition for online platforms requesting voluntary payments from contributors, under the same conditions as the contribution exception.

• Effective upon passage and amends Connecticut General Statutes sections 9-601a(b) and 9-601b(b).
