Repeals and replaces Section 1-4 of Connecticut General Statutes to add Indigenous Peoples' Day to the state's list of legal holidays, effective July 1, 2024

Designates Indigenous Peoples' Day as a legal holiday without specifying the exact date, leaving the date and month to be filled in (shown as blank lines in the bill text)

Applies the same holiday observance rules as other holidays: when the holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday becomes the legal holiday; when it falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday becomes the legal holiday

Allows local and regional school boards discretion to close schools or hold sessions on Indigenous Peoples' Day (except for holidays in January and December, which require school closures)

Schools that hold sessions on the holiday must provide a suitable nonsectarian educational program in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day
