Commissioner of Social Services must provide Medicaid coverage for diabetes prevention, education, self-management, and medical nutrition therapy programs, effective July 1, 2025

Commissioner may seek federal approval through a Medicaid waiver or state plan amendment if necessary to implement coverage

Commissioner must file a report by January 1, 2026 on Medicaid recipient enrollment in diabetes programs and available data on health impacts

Establishes a Diabetes Advisory Council with 11 members including legislative appointees, the Commissioners of Social Services and Public Health, and a person diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes

Council must submit annual reports beginning January 1, 2026 with findings and recommendations on diabetes education, prevention, and treatment to the Human Services and Public Health committees
