Licensed family child care home operators who store firearms must provide written notification to parents/guardians by January 1, 2026, and annually thereafter, listing the number and type of each firearm stored on premises

Parents/guardians must sign an acknowledgment of receipt, which operators must retain for at least 3 years and make available to the Office of Early Childhood upon request

New enrollees must receive firearm notification at the time of enrollment beginning January 1, 2026

Operators must confirm compliance annually to the Commissioner of Early Childhood by February 1, 2027, and each year thereafter

Failure to comply with firearm notification requirements may result in license suspension, revocation, or other action by the Commissioner of Early Childhood
