Registered sex offenders who reside within 1,000 feet of a public or private elementary or secondary school would be guilty of a class A misdemeanor

The restriction also applies to residing within 1,000 feet of any facility providing child day care services as defined in section 19a-77 of the general statutes

Exempts offenders who established residence within 1,000 feet of such property prior to the act's effective date

Exempts offenders if a school or day care facility is newly located within 1,000 feet of their existing residence after the act's effective date
