Dentists trained outside the United States would become eligible for licensure as dental hygienists in Connecticut

Applicants must have at least 5 years of lawful dental practice in a foreign country or province

Foreign-trained dentists must submit a certificate of licensure or registration and documentation of practice duration from their country's dental board or equivalent licensing entity

The Commissioner of Public Health would establish additional competency requirements for applicants

Amends Chapter 379a of the general statutes to address dental hygienist workforce shortages in the state
