Office of Policy and Management is now required (changed from "may") to rely on credible and relevant data from broadband providers, state agencies, political subdivisions, and consumers when developing the state broadband map

Broadband providers must submit service availability data as labeled shapefiles that include maximum advertised download/upload speeds and transmission technology for each address, plus total connection counts by census block group

Provider-submitted information is classified as a trade secret and exempt from public disclosure, though it may be shared with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Office of State Broadband, and Commission for Educational Technology under data-sharing agreements

All state agencies and political subdivisions must provide requested information to support broadband map development and maintenance
