Municipalities may publish legal notices in weekly newspapers instead of daily newspapers through June 30, 2026, with a phased transition requiring publication in newspapers with "sufficient circulation" (reaching at least 15% of households) beginning July 1, 2026

Starting July 1, 2027, municipalities must publish legal notices both in a selected newspaper with sufficient circulation AND on the municipality's website

Chief elected officials must identify and evaluate newspaper circulation by April 30, 2026, and every two years thereafter, selecting one qualifying newspaper based on print subscribers, online subscribers, and unique online visitors

Municipalities publishing notices online must post a link on their homepage, maintain notices for at least 90 days, and file copies with the municipal clerk or transmit to the regional council of governments

Effective October 1, 2025; errors in published legal notices not attributable to the municipality do not affect notice validity
