All members and staff of inland wetlands agencies must complete a comprehensive training program developed by the DEEP commissioner, effective January 1, 2026

Current members and staff as of January 1, 2026 must complete initial training by January 1, 2027, then every four years thereafter (or once per term if the term exceeds four years)

New members and staff hired after January 1, 2026 must complete training within one year of their election, appointment, or hiring

The training program must be made available on the DEEP website, replacing the previous requirement of annual in-person meetings and video/written materials

Starting March 1, 2027, each inland wetlands agency must annually submit a compliance statement to its municipal legislative body or board of selectmen confirming members and staff completed required training
