Extends the maximum duration of a patient's written consent for shock therapy from 30 days to 90 days, with the patient retaining the right to revoke consent at any time

Increases the maximum duration of Probate Court orders authorizing shock therapy from 45 days to 90 days for patients found incapable of giving informed consent

Maintains existing requirement that shock therapy without patient consent requires determination by the hospital head and two qualified physicians that the patient is incapable of informed consent

Probate Court must still find no other less intrusive beneficial treatment exists before authorizing shock therapy for incapacitated patients
