Providers of veteran or military benefit assistance services must obtain all required federal and state qualifications, certifications, and accreditations, and comply with federal regulations (38 CFR) regarding fiduciary responsibilities, conduct standards, and fee limitations

Advertisements and client communications must include a clear disclosure stating the business is not affiliated with the U.S. or Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs or any federally chartered veterans service organization

Required disclosures must inform clients that free assistance is available through VA-accredited veterans service officers, the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, and federally chartered veterans service organizations

Violations are classified as unfair or deceptive trade practices under Connecticut law (section 42-110b), subject to investigation and enforcement by the Attorney General
