Requires the Commissioner of Social Services to provide Medicaid reimbursement for suicide risk assessments and mental health evaluations at school-based health centers and public schools, to the extent permitted by federal law

Mandates that suicide risk assessments be reimbursed as a separate billable service rather than bundled into aggregated payments for other services

Requires the Commissioner to amend the Medicaid state plan if necessary to enable reimbursement for these services

Directs reimbursement rates to be set at levels that ensure an adequate pool of providers for suicide risk assessments and mental health services

Effective date: July 1, 2025
