Expands workers' compensation coverage for post-traumatic stress injury by adding "witnessing a serious physical injury" as a new qualifying event, effective October 1, 2025

Applies to police officers, parole officers, firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, Department of Correction employees, and telecommunicators for events occurring in the line of duty

Also extends the new qualifying event to all employees for events arising out of and in the course of employment on and after January 1, 2024

The serious physical injury must not result in death, loss of a vital body part, or permanent disfigurement to qualify under this new provision (distinguishing it from existing covered events)

"Serious physical injury" is defined by reference to section 53a-3 of Connecticut general statutes
