Restructures the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control effective July 1, 2025, expanding membership to include representatives from additional organizations such as the Connecticut Career Fire Chiefs' Association, Connecticut Fire Equipment Mechanics Association, and Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board.

Changes the State Fire Marshal from a voting ex-officio member to a nonvoting member, and adds two new nonvoting members: the DEEP forest protection supervisor and the commanding officer of the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit.

Shifts appointment of the commission chairperson from election by members to appointment by the Governor starting July 1, 2025.

Allows a DEEP council tasked with identifying rural fire issues to serve as a commission subcommittee beginning July 1, 2026, focusing on wildfire mitigation, rural fire department resources, and wildland-urban interface risks.

Establishes that the Connecticut State Firefighters Association's education committee shall serve as a subcommittee on fire school matters starting July 1, 2025.
