Starting fiscal year 2028, $139,380,000 annually will be transferred from the General Fund to the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Fund from tribal gaming revenues received under agreements with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe (1993) and Mohegan Tribe (1994)

The current grant distribution system continues through June 30, 2026, after which the new fixed transfer amount takes effect

Reductions to the fund transfers require the Governor to certify an emergency and a two-thirds vote of both houses of the General Assembly

Beginning fiscal year 2026, Ledyard and Montville may each receive grants of up to $600,000 if the state revokes taxation of non-Indian property on reservation land, in addition to their regular grant allocations

Grants are paid in three installments annually (January 1, April 1, and June 30), with the Office of Policy and Management certifying amounts to the Comptroller by the 15th of December, March, and June
