Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management must study financial impacts on state and municipal finances of modifying the basic property tax exemption for veterans and military-related individuals under section 12-81(19) of the general statutes

Study must analyze effects of increasing the allowable exemption amount for property belonging to or held in trust for veterans and military-related individuals

Study must also examine impacts of imposing a property value limit for eligibility for the exemption

Report with study results and legislative recommendations due to joint standing committees by February 1, 2026

Effective date: July 1, 2025
