Expands the definition of "minor party" to include parties whose candidate for any state office received at least 1% of votes in the last election, allowing such parties to use their designation on nominating petitions for any office statewide

Allows nominating petition applicants to use a minor party designation if that party qualified on a different office on the same ballot or meets the new statewide recognition criteria

Clarifies that minor party provisions apply within the geographical jurisdiction of the office to which their status pertains, while major party provisions apply statewide

Amends sections 9-453b, 9-372, and 9-66 of Connecticut general statutes related to nominating petitions and party definitions
