The Commissioner of Social Services must nominate a Medicaid director for appointment by the Governor, subject to legislative confirmation under section 4-7 of the general statutes

Any person currently serving as Medicaid director prior to the bill's effective date will serve on an interim basis until their appointment is confirmed or denied by the legislature

The bill amends section 17b-3(a) of the general statutes regarding the Commissioner's powers and duties

Both sections take effect immediately upon passage
