Expands training providers for public school security personnel to include instructors approved by the Police Officer Standards and Training Council and selected by local or regional boards of education, in addition to the Council itself

Training for armed security personnel must cover 10 areas: use of force, recognition of armed persons, perimeter security, stopping blood loss, active assailant response, safe firearm handling, weapon retention, qualified immunity, lawful firearm storage, and techniques for interacting with persons with disabilities including de-escalation

Training for unarmed security personnel must include drug detection and gang identification

Training may occur at the Connecticut Police Academy or any other location selected by the board of education when provided by an approved instructor

Effective October 1, 2025; amends Section 7-294x of the general statutes
