Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection will administer grants to local and regional boards of education for school mapping data services, effective July 1, 2025

School mapping data must be compatible with public safety agency software platforms without requiring additional purchases or fees, include accurate floor plans with aerial imagery, room labels, hazard locations, and gridded coordinates

Mapping data must be verified through walk-throughs of school buildings and grounds, oriented true north, and provided permanently to school boards and public safety agencies at no cost beyond initial production

Department must develop eligibility criteria and application forms by October 1, 2025, and submit annual reports to the legislature starting January 1, 2027

Amends existing school security infrastructure grant program to add school mapping data services as an eligible reimbursable expense alongside surveillance cameras, security doors, and training
