Commissioner of Social Services must petition federal HHS within 30 days of passage to authorize generic, lower-cost GLP-1 prescription drugs for treating obesity or diabetes under 28 USC 1498

Upon federal approval, the Commissioner must contract with generic drug manufacturers to supply these medications to HUSKY Health (Medicaid) program members, with option to form multi-state purchasing consortiums

Commissioner must develop a strategic plan to maximize access and minimize costs, with a report due to the Human Services committee by December 31, 2025

Establishes a 6-member advisory committee including patient advocates, Medicaid pharmacists, and medical professionals (at least one certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine) to study cost-effective obesity drug access

Advisory committee must convene within 30 days, meet bimonthly, and submit recommendations on plan implementation by January 31, 2026
