Surviving spouses are no longer responsible for a deceased spouse's medical debt, including physician, dentist, and hospital expenses rendered to the deceased

Amends Connecticut General Statutes Section 46b-37, which governs spousal liability for family expenses

Current law requiring both spouses to be jointly liable for medical and hospital expenses remains in effect during the marriage while both spouses are living

Effective date: July 1, 2025
