State marshals working at least 20 hours per week on average would gain access to the state employee group health insurance plan effective October 1, 2025, paying the same premiums as classified state employees under collective bargaining agreements

State marshals working less than 20 hours per week would also be allowed to participate in the state health plan, but must pay the full cost of coverage

Marshals seeking the subsidized rate must certify their hours quarterly to the State Marshal Commission by the 15th of April, July, October, and January

Adds state marshals to the list of groups eligible for group hospitalization and medical/surgical insurance plans procured by the Comptroller under section 5-259

The bill takes effect July 1, 2025, with the new marshal health insurance provisions becoming operative October 1, 2025
