Public school students in grades K-12 prohibited from accessing personal wireless communication devices (cell phones, tablets, computers, gaming devices, smart watches) on school property during the school day, effective July 1, 2027

Devices must be powered off and stored in locations prescribed by the board of education, such as student lockers or designated areas

Exceptions allowed for students with IEPs, Section 504 accommodation plans, or when a licensed physician determines device access is necessary for health and well-being

Social media platforms blocked on school-provided internet during the school day, except when authorized for instructional purposes

Local and regional boards of education required to develop implementation policies including emergency communication procedures and disciplinary measures, with annual notification to parents and inclusion in student handbooks
