State must provide uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to Department of Transportation employees under the State Fleet Insurance Policy by July 1, 2027

Coverage limits for bodily injury or death set at minimum of $1 million

Coverage applies to employees who are required to work outside of a motor vehicle during the course of their employment

Protects employees entitled to recover damages from uninsured or underinsured motorists for bodily injuries or death arising from employment duties

Effective date: October 1, 2026
