Banks are not required to offer enhanced features such as preferred interest rates or rewards programs with these accounts

Banking institutions must open accounts when presented with a properly stamped State Elections Enforcement Commission "Registration by Candidate" form and proof of a federal employer identification number

Connecticut banks and credit unions receive credit toward their Community Reinvestment Act obligations for offering candidate committee banking accounts
