Commissioner of Economic and Community Development may study the feasibility of establishing a Connecticut Bridge Authority to oversee funding and construction of a bridge connecting Connecticut to Long Island

Study is permissive, not mandatory, giving the commissioner discretion on whether to conduct it

If the study is conducted, a report must be submitted to the General Assembly by January 1, 2027

Report would go to joint standing committees on commerce, planning and development, and transportation

Takes effect immediately upon passage
