Drivers operating under temporary license provisions (section 14-44(e)(3)) are deemed to meet state licensure requirements for up to 90 days, reducing barriers to entering the nonemergency medical transportation workforce

Commissioner of Social Services must annually review reimbursement rates for nonemergency medical transportation services to ensure rates are adequate to maintain a sufficient pool of drivers for Medicaid recipients

Reviewed rates must be included in each transportation contract to guarantee adequate compensation for providers

Amends section 17b-276(a) of the general statutes, effective July 1, 2026
