Commissioner of Social Services must provide Medicaid reimbursement for room and board costs for beneficiaries receiving care at short-term hospice specialty hospitals or licensed hospice facilities, effective July 1, 2026

Reimbursement is contingent on available appropriations

Commissioner must submit a report to legislative committees by January 15, 2027, documenting any savings achieved by treating patients at hospice facilities rather than acute care hospitals or skilled nursing facilities

Report must be filed with joint standing committees on appropriations, state agency budgets, human services, and public health
