Effective July 1, 2026, home care providers may receive Medicaid reimbursement for providing nonemergency transportation to and from medical appointments for home care clients who are Medicaid beneficiaries

Home care providers must possess a state-issued driver's license and maintain sufficient liability insurance as prescribed by the Commissioner of Social Services to qualify for transportation reimbursement

The Commissioner of Social Services must increase the fee schedule for home care providers who transport Medicaid clients to medical appointments, adding transportation services to the existing rate structure

Amends sections 17b-343 and 17b-276 of the Connecticut General Statutes governing home care service rates and Medicaid reimbursement
