Certified sober living home operators must report their certified status to the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, provide contact information for daily operations oversight, and report bed availability weekly, effective July 1, 2026

Operators must maintain at least two doses of opioid antagonists per resident on premises and provide annual training to all residents on administering opioid antagonists when any resident has been diagnosed with opioid use disorder

Starting January 1, 2027, operators must submit annual reports to DMHAS and local municipal officials covering bed capacity, average daily residents and staff, staff credentials and training, criminal background check policies, liability insurance levels, facility amenities, and any code violations received

Operators are prohibited from advertising as licensed treatment facilities, publishing claims of specific outcomes, or disclosing resident information without consent in violation of HIPAA; violations constitute unfair trade practices

DMHAS must maintain and update weekly a public website listing certified sober living homes and their available beds
