Expands permissible uses of the $12.5 million annual Town Aid Road grant program to explicitly include purchase and maintenance of road equipment such as street sweepers, snow removal machinery, de-icing equipment, and catch basin cleaners

Adds traffic control and vehicular safety programs, traffic and parking planning and administration as authorized uses for grant funds

Retains existing authorized uses including highway construction, maintenance, resiliency improvements against flooding and extreme weather, snow plowing, tree removal, and traffic sign installation

Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management retains discretion to approve fund uses beyond those specifically enumerated in the statute

Effective October 1, 2026
