Existing agents of local health directors have until October 1, 2027 to apply for certification and may continue working during that transition period without certification

Authorizes water treatment plant, distribution system, and small water system operator certification through completion of Labor Department-approved apprenticeship programs, requiring apprentices to work under direct supervision of certified operators and notify the department at least 10 days before starting the program
