Eliminates the requirement to publish shellfish area closures in local newspapers, replacing it with posting notices on the Department of Agriculture's website

Allows shellfish closure classifications to be filed electronically (in addition to in writing) with town clerks and health directors

Retains requirements for posting physical signs at or near closed shellfish areas and providing written notice to municipal/district health authorities

Streamlines emergency closure procedures for contaminated shellfish areas by removing newspaper publication requirements while maintaining direct notification to health authorities

Repeals Section 26-206 of the general statutes and takes effect upon passage
