Directors, assistant directors, and staff members age 21 or older at youth camps operated by municipal agencies are added to the list of mandated reporters of child abuse, effective October 1, 2026

The bill amends section 17a-101(b) of the general statutes, which defines mandated reporters including physicians, nurses, school employees, coaches, and child care workers

The Office of Early Childhood must submit a report by January 1, 2027 to the legislature's children's committee on municipal youth camps statewide

The required report must include a list of each municipal youth camp, operational structure details, number and age range of children served in the prior year, and whether each camp accepts child care assistance subsidy payments

The Office of Early Childhood must consult with statewide associations representing municipal parks and recreation departments, small towns, and municipal leaders in preparing the report
