Cast ballots from elections, primaries, and referenda, including write-in ballots, would be exempt from public disclosure under Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act, effective July 1, 2026

The exemption explicitly preserves the ability to conduct recanvasses and audits under existing election law chapters (147, 148, 152, and 153)

Amends the statutory definition of "referendum" in Section 9-1(n) to include questions submitted to voters pursuant to charter, home rule ordinance, or special act
