Department of Energy and Environmental Protection must establish a free swimming lesson program by May 1, 2027, offered annually during summer months to eligible participants

Eligible participants are individuals under 17 years old who reside in qualified census tracts, receive SNAP benefits, or are eligible for the WIC program

DEEP may contract with nonprofit organizations that provide swimming lessons and water safety skills instruction to deliver the program

The department may accept gifts, grants, and donations from public or private sources to fund the program
