Amends Connecticut's Medicaid step therapy requirements to allow duration to follow evidence-based guidelines issued by drug manufacturers and the FDA

Limits step therapy to a maximum of 30 days when no manufacturer or FDA guidelines exist, after which the prescribing practitioner may deem treatment clinically ineffective

Requires Medicaid to cover and dispense the drug prescribed by the practitioner once step therapy is deemed clinically ineffective for the patient

Takes effect immediately upon passage and amends section 17b-274f(b) of the general statutes
