Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection may administer grants to municipalities and municipal police departments for school mapping data services, beginning fiscal year ending June 30, 2027

Mapping data must be compatible with software platforms used by local, state, and federal public safety agencies without requiring additional software purchases or fees to access

Maps must include accurate floor plans overlaid on aerial imagery, oriented true north, with gridded coordinates and site-specific labels for rooms, hallways, doors, hazards, utility locations, AEDs, trauma kits, parking areas, and athletic fields

Data accuracy must be verified through walk-throughs of school buildings and grounds, and updates must sync with public safety agency software platforms

Department must develop eligibility criteria and application forms by October 1, 2026, and submit annual reports to the legislature beginning January 1, 2028 detailing applications received, grants awarded, and recipient municipalities
