Amends the definition of "retired police officer" for school security services to add a new requirement that all categories of retired officers must not be prohibited from being hired by a law enforcement unit pursuant to section 7-291c

Expands the definition from three to four categories of eligible retired officers: local police, Connecticut State Police, federal law enforcement agents, and out-of-state police officers

Requires retired officers serving as armed school security to be qualified under 18 USC 926C, complete annual training under section 7-294x, and pass annual firearms training meeting POST Council or federal standards

Exempts qualifying retired police officers providing school security from state licensing requirements under part II of chapter 534

Effective date: October 1, 2026
