Incorporates the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (42 USC 12101 et seq.) and its regulations promulgated on or before January 1, 2025, into Connecticut state law, effective October 1, 2026

State law provisions that offer stronger protections for persons with disabilities than the federal ADA will take precedence over the federal requirements

Allows persons alleging ADA violations to file discriminatory practice complaints with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities under section 46a-82, as an alternative to filing federal complaints

Complaints governed by state laws with more stringent disability protections than the federal ADA will be adjudicated under those state law standards
