Commissioner of Social Services must study the need for palliative and hospice care services in Litchfield County, consulting with the Commissioner of Public Health and considering findings from the Palliative Care Advisory Council

Study report due to the General Assembly's Human Services and Public Health committees by October 1, 2026

If the study identifies a need, the Commissioner may design and implement a pilot program to provide palliative and hospice care services in Litchfield County within available appropriations

Commissioner must maximize federal funding for any pilot program and may seek a Medicaid waiver or amend the Medicaid state plan to obtain such funding

Effective immediately upon passage
